Looks matter a lot in the entertainment industry. A good head-shot will enable the recruiters to see if you look perfect for the role or not. In fact, a head-shot is many times the only requirement to get into this field and so never send your resume without one.
Include the following:
- Your Physical Details: Details like your age, height, weight, skin color, natural eye color, hair color, etc., are quite essential in this field. If you think that details like these can also be sought out form the head-shot, you never know when bad luck struck and your head-shot is separated form your resume. For this extreme case at least, spelling things out could prove beneficial.
- Your Contact Information: Keep your current contact information in the resume. Create an email-id if you don't have one.
- Work Experiences: Enlist some or all of your work experiences. If they are too many, you can cut the non-important ones and include in the resume only those which you feel are extremely important.
- Professional Trainings Sought, If Any: Include the information regarding any professional training you have sought for dancing, acting, improving dialects, etc.
- Skills, Hobbies and Interests: Include any skills like singing and dancing, hobbies like learning new dialects and languages, interests like watching movies, etc., can be an added advantage for people in this field.
- Lies About Experiences: Never lie about any prior experiences. Your experience can be easily judged from your work and so even if you get selected for an audition, you won't be able to go forward with such lies.
- Unknown Skills: Never speak of any set of skills you hardly know. Exaggeration does not work in fields where practicals are the only facts believed.
- Lengthy Resume: A good resume advice is to keep it as short as possible.
- Too Flowery Language: Actors are not meant to be creative writers or poets. Avoid using flowery language while creating an actor resume.
